Are you ready to host an international exchange student?

Below is an overview of next steps and documentation needed to get started. ​

GBA is here to help ensure your time hosting an international exchange student is a smooth and rewarding experience for everyone involved, so don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

HOST FAMILIES

Host Family Application Process

Step 1

  • Click on “Host Family Application”  

  • Please complete the application.  

  • Once submitted, you will receive an email from GBAalerts@gmail.com with an Application ID number. ​​

For all remaining steps you must have your Application ID number available to move forward.

Step 2

  • Click on the “Family Member Info” button below.

  • Please enter your Application ID

  • We require all host families to submit individual information for all persons residing in the home over the age of 18.

  • Be aware that each individual over 18 is required to submit their personal information and authorize GBA to conduct a personal background check for themselves. 

Information Required:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Birthdate

  • Email

  • Photo ID*

    • *Please have an image ready for upload.

  • Relationship within the Home?

  • Will the individual serve as the household’s primary driver?

Step 3

  • Click on “Profile Submission Form” 

  • Please enter your Application ID 

  • Complete a written profile

  • Please follow the examples provided on the form

  • Click on the “Photo Uploader” button below.

  • Please enter your Application ID

 

Photos should be taken of each room in the house. Please take a photo of a clean room. Be sure to take wide angle photos.  Please do not include photos of your personal bedroom, your children’s bedroom(s), or in-law quarters, etc.

  • Family photo – Please include a photo with all family members residing in the home; a framed photo is not accepted

  • Outside front of the house

  • Living room

  • Family room

  • Dining room

  • Kitchen

  • Student bedroom(s)

  • Student bathroom(s)

  • Laundry Room

  • Backyard / Pool (required if you have one)

  • Pets

  • Miscellaneous (extra student room, pets, ect.)

Step 4

  • Click on the “Document Uploader” button below.

  • Please enter your Application ID.

 

Any additional documentation we will require families to submit will be done through this form.​ Some documents all host families will need to submit includes:

  • Proof of Completed Mandated Reporter Training* Minimum of one person per household.

  • Proof of Auto Insurance

Once we receive these items we will contact you to schedule an in-home visit with you and your family. We look forward to working with you and hope you can refer future families to GBA.

We offer a referral fee. Thank you!

Host Family Expectations
